FAQ
Electrical estimating: common questions
What sheets do you need for an electrical takeoff?
The electrical sheets (E-series) including power, lighting and panel schedules, the architectural floor plans and reflected ceiling plans, specs if available, and your bid date.
Do you measure wire and conduit or just count devices?
Both. Devices and fixtures are counted by type, and conduit and wire are measured by run and size, with home runs and feeders listed separately.
Can you use my labor units and pricing?
Yes. Send your labor units or hourly rate, supplier pricing and markup and we build them into the Excel file.
Is fire alarm included?
Only if it is in your scope. We list it separately or exclude it in writing so there are no surprises on bid day.
How much does an electrical takeoff cost?
A single-trade takeoff is $99. Full priced estimates are $249 for residential or remodel and $499 for custom homes or commercial. Monthly plans start at $299 for 4 takeoffs.
